The vision of The Asian Weekly Achievers Awards (TAWAA) is to create a space that champions publication’s very purpose of bringing together the greater community. Thus, the awards celebrate and fete various personal and collective achievements by deserving members of society, reputable businesses and esteemed organisations.

The award subsequently encourages others to join in on the efforts of positively impacting society, thus contributing to the overall goal of creating a society that fosters unity and harmony, tolerance and understanding and most importantly, works towards a bigger and brighter future.

Initiated in 2014, TAWAA germinated from an impromptu idea aimed at celebrating personal achievements and societal landmarks that left a mark on the region’s activity calendar year. TAWAA has since morphed into an annual observance, growing bigger and better with every passing ceremony. In 2015, the winners were invited for a humble award presentation ceremony replete with entertaining performances. In 2016, a lavish awards ceremony was hosted which saw over 500 guests in attendance; taking the ceremony several notches higher. The noble causes that propel the awards ceremony has not gone unnoticed; this first-of-its kind ceremony also received media attention from reputable local publications. TAWAA has since grown exponentially and continues to raise the bar of felicitations in the society.

The foundation of the awards is a list of nominees in various categories, based on individual and collective groups that have been actively involved in positively impacting society over the course of the year. The nominees hail from various disciplines, including the fields of business, sports and entertainment among others. Based on the designated window, votes from the public are garnered in favour of their preferred candidate or body as the recipient of the award. Additionally, a 50% of votes is also cast by an independent jury panel. The final tallies are conducted and verified by a reputable and sovereign auditing body, before the results are announced and winners awarded.
